Contents of the Impact Assessment Centre
The Impacts of Microfinance This section provides information on studies showing how financial services impact the poor. Evidence on impact has been structured according to different dimensions of the Millenium Development Goals. The studies, conducted in Asia, Africa, and Latin America illustrate how microfinance reduces poverty and advances development goals in education, health, women's empowerment and building a sustainable environment.
Although many microfinance institutions (MFIs) aim to reduce poverty, few measure the impact of their services on their clients on an ongoing basis. This section leads MFIs through a step-by-step Guide to Impact Assessment to design and implement an assessment appropriate to their organization and mission. It also provides detailed information on the methodological issues and tools involved in an assessment.
Resource Documents This section provides links to research and publications on impact assessment.
Practitioner Pages This section is devoted to microfinance practitioners, whose experience is reflected in opinion pieces and assessment reports.
