KENYA: Microfinance Act now posted online.Kenya's new law regulating microfinance, the Microfinance Act 2006, is now available on the Microfinance Gateway. The Act, which had been passed by Parliament on November 28, 2006, was signed into law on Dec. 30, 2006 by President Mwai Kibaki. The Central Bank of Kenya is now developing draft prudential regulations and guidelines to complement the new Act. |
