Therefore, we publish this Privacy Policy to affirm our commitment to maintaining privacy for our users and to inform you of our practices concerning the collection and use of information you provide us. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect on this website, how we may use that information, and with whom we may share it. Our Privacy Policy also describes the measures we take to protect the security of the information. Personal Information and Submission of Content

You may choose to provide personal information (such as your name, email, and home address) on this website. You may also choose to submit content to the website for publication as well as comments on and ratings of existing content. Here are the ways you may provide information and content and the types of information and content you may submit. We also tell you how we may use the information and content.

Contact Us

If you email us through this website or at webmaster@microfinancegateway.org, we will receive your email address and any other information you choose to include in your email. We use your email address to respond to your inquiry.

Email Bulletins

If you would like to receive our email bulletins, we ask you for your name and email address so that we can fulfill your request. You may provide your country and address of residence as well.
Submitting Announcements, Events, Job Openings, Organization Profile and Library Documents
The Microfinance Gateway encourages users to submit announcements, events, job openings, and library documents, hereafter referred to as “content,” for publication on the Microfinance Gateway. We provide online submission forms for this purpose.

Users who submit content to the Microfinance Gateway (“contributors”) are asked to provide content along with, in some cases, relevant documents, links, and descriptive information to support their submission. Contributors are also asked to provide their own contact information, which we will only use to follow-up on questions regarding the submission. Contributor contact information will not be published online.

Contributors who are unable to use the online submission forms may contact the Microfinance Gateway staff at webmaster@microfinancegateway.org.

Consultant Profiles

Microfinance professionals may post a Consultant Profile for publication on the Microfinance Gateway. The online submission form provided for this purpose asks for information including your name, postal address, phone number, facsimile number, email address, curriculum vitae, academic qualifications, expertise, etc. Consultants are asked to create a log in name and password, which will allow them to edit or remove their profile information in the future.

By submitting this information, consultants represent that the information submitted is accurate and shall hold Microfinance Gateway, CGAP and the World Bank free from liability to third parties who rely on such information. Consultants grant permission for the Microfinance Gateway to publish the profile online. We may also use contact information to reach you with questions regarding your submitted profile. If you wish to edit or remove your profile you may do so by logging in to your Consultant Profile account. Consultants who have difficulty logging in, editing, or removing their profile may contact Microfinance Gateway staff at webmaster@microfinancegateway.org for assistance.

Comment Boards and Ratings

The Microfinance Gateway provides comment boards and a rating tool accessible by all users on the website. Users submitting comments or ratings are asked to provide their name, email address, and country of residence. Users may choose not to publish their name and email address along with their comment or rating.

Users agree that all comments and ratings they submit to the Microfinance Gateway are non-confidential and public and grant the Microfinance Gateway the right to publish them.

Use of Cookies

When you register for one of our services, we set a cookie, a small bit of code stored on your computer's hard drive that enables you to manage your subscriptions and online profile. By setting this cookie, the website will remember you the next time you visit and won't have to bother you by asking questions you have already answered (like address information).

Additionally, Omniture, the vendor we use for the analysis of the non-personally identifiable usage, uses cookies to track behavior and sets cookies on behalf of the Microfinance Gateway, CGAP, and the World Bank. IP Addresses

In addition, we record your IP address, which is the Internet address of your computer, and information such as your browser type and operating system. This information helps us learn about the geographical distribution of our visitors and the technology they use to access our website. This information is never connected with the personal information you supply to us on our website.

Information We Share

We do not sell or otherwise disclose personal information about our website visitors, except as described here. We also may share information provided by our website visitors with service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf. The Microfinance Gateway will take reasonable steps to help ensure that these service providers are obligated to safeguard your information on the Microfinance Gateway’s behalf.
