Overview
The Microfinance Gateway is a service of CGAP. We endeavor to make this Web site accessible to as many users as possible, including those with minimal technological skills. We respond promptly to user comments, questions, and feedback and rely on your input in developing our priorities for new and improved site features.

Getting Started

Main Features
The Microfinance Gateway features a wide range of content and resources, including: library documents, job openings, events and training, organization and consultant profiles, news, announcements, and Microfinance Voices (formerly “Highlights”).

Hot Topics
There are seven Hot Topics pages on the Microfinance Gateway: Investment, Microinsurance, Policy, Rural and Agricultural Finance, Savings, Social Performance, and Technology. Hot Topics pages provide useful information on these key subjects in microfinance, including links to the latest and most recommended resources.

Microfinance Voices
Formerly called “Highlights,” Microfinance Voices are feature articles on current issues in microfinance. The Microfinance Gateway works with practitioners and scholars in the field to produce these pieces, which are published once a month throughout the year.

News and Announcements
News items published on the Microfinance Gateway come from both industry and mainstream press. Announcements are sourced from microfinance industry participants who wish to share policy and program developments with the microfinance community.

Comments Board, Reviews, and Ratings
Comment boards and review and rating are tools to facilitate knowledge exchange among our users. Comment boards, which appear with news items and Microfinance Voices and review and rating tools, which appear with library documents are available to everyone. There is no general log in required to use the Web site’s resources, although some features, like the consultant profile and the weekly bulletins, do require a log in for access.

Microfinance Gateway comments, reviews, and ratings are important ways for the microfinance community to voice opinions, share experiences, and engage in discussions about current issues in the field. We will use ratings to develop library document rankings as well. We strongly encourage that users share their views with their colleagues in the microfinance community. We welcome informed and insightful comments and reviews.

We ask users to respect the following guidelines when posting a comment, rating or review.

  • Users are limited to submitting one review per publication.
