The Microfinance Gateway is the most comprehensive online resource for the global microfinance community. The website features research and publications, original articles, organization and consultant profiles, and the latest industry announcements, news, events, and job opportunities.

Our Mission
Our mission is to advance knowledge and encourage innovation within the microfinance industry. We seek to create an interactive platform for knowledge exchange and engagement among our diverse user base, which includes microfinance practitioners, donors, networks, consultants, service providers, academics and policy makers.

Our Core Values
The Microfinance Gateway is committed to being:

• Community Driven: Content is collected and disseminated as a shared resource. Site priorities are based on user feedback.
  
• Diverse: Site content covers an array of issues and topics in microfinance, representing a wide range of perspectives, sources and authors. Preference is not given to any particular agenda, group, or model in microfinance.
  
• High Quality: Rigorous editorial standards regarding the relevance and form of content are applied. We are committed to presenting all material in a clear and accessible manner through meticulous abstracting and indexing.
  
• Interactive: There are numerous opportunities for users to offer feedback, provide content, respond to content, and to interact with one another throughout the site.

Main Features and Services
The Microfinance Gateway currently holds more than 7,000 documents in its library, over 1,000 organization profiles and over 400 consultant profiles. We encourage users to contribute library documents, announcements, events, and job postings to the site. Users can share their views by rating and reviewing library documents and commenting on news and feature articles called Microfinance Voices.

Affiliate Language Sites
The Microfinance Gateway has three affiliate language sites, French, Arabic, and Spanish, in association with our regional partners GRET, ADA, Sanabel, and INCAE. These sites share similar features with the English-language Microfinance Gateway, but contain content relevant to the associated region, including profiles of countries with active microfinance sectors in the region.

Our Staff
One full-time manager and one assistant work on the Microfinance Gateway in Washington DC, and four content managers work from a partner firm, Intellecap, in India. The French site is run by staff from two European NGOs, ADA and GRET. Our Arabic site is run by a two-person team from the Cairo-based Sanabel network, and the Spanish site is managed by a two-person team from our content partner INCAE in Costa Rica.

The Microfinance Gateway and CGAP
The Microfinance Gateway is a platform for, of, and by the entire microfinance industry. The website is provided as a service of CGAP, a consortium of 33 donors who support microfinance. The Microfinance Gateway is committed to presenting the diverse array of viewpoints, perspectives and information available in the field.

Research and Funding Assistance
The Microfinance Gateway team will strive to support your research needs. However, given our limited resources, we provide such assistance on a limited basis. Try using our advanced search features to locate the information you need.

The Microfinance Gateway is entirely dedicated to providing and disseminating microfinance-related information and resources and does not provide funding to other individuals or organizations.

User Feedback
