Providing a framework for establishing MFIs

This business plan provides a rational framework for the microfinance activities of Empowerment Enterprises of Africa (EEA), a non-profit organization in Tanzania. EEA has its headquarters in the capital, Dar-Es-Salaam. The organization aims to provide social and financial solutions to the poor.

EEA believes in compassionate microfinance lending. This includes a range of support services for its members through multiple local programs in strategic rural and urban areas of Tanzania. It expects to empower clients to move out of extreme poverty by 2025, through strategic goals that include microfinance, community investment, entrepreneurship and dynamic social network. EEA intends to:

• Increase opportunities for the poor to access financial services;
• Provide financial services to low income entrepreneurs;
• Mobilize deposits from members and non-members;
• Loan a certain percentage of these funds to urban and rural producers, traders and small scale farmers.

EEA's core values include enhancing clients’ determination, serving as an ongoing financial resource for members, and achieving significant outreach and financial self-sufficiency. The business plan analyzes EEA’s market and clients, business environment, potential partnerships and institutional capacity.
