User Review: Quality Audit Tool (QAT) Assessing a tool that supports MFI managers in reviewing management processes This User Review evaluates the Microfinance Centre’s Quality Audit Tool (QAT) and provides a snapshot of its strengths and weaknesses. It includes a scorecard that rates the tool on specific social performance dimensions based on user feedback. The review observes that QAT is a good entry point into social performance assessment, and helps the MFI assess its social performance (SP) and develop concrete action plans to improve it. Users report the following strengths of QAT:
Weaknesses of the tool include limited client interaction, absence of benchmarking and limited assessment of non-financial services. The review suggests that QAT is most appropriate for MFIs that expect an internal review of management processes on SP dimensions as well as an action plan for improvement.
