Take the New Global Masters Course in Microfinance Survey

The microfinance sector assists 150 million people around the world and the market for microfinance services is increasing at around 25-30% per annum. Despite the enormous growth in the microfinance industry internationally, few university programs offer courses on microfinance or a masters degrees specializing in microfinance.  Most training needs for the microfinance industry are met by short courses.

The Foundation for Development Cooperation (FDC) has been informed by multiple microfinance stakeholders around the world that there is a strong argument for leading international educational institutions to come together to design and offer a Global Masters in Microfinance (GMM). FDC’s expects that GMM will improve the levels of practitioner skill and knowledge within the microfinance industry, and various supporting industries such as the IT and banking sectors, as well as public policy-makers around the world.

FDC is conducting a survey to further inform their thinking. Survey participants will be eligible to win free registration to the Asia Microfinance Forum 2010 to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from October 12-15, 2010.
