Assessing social impact of MFIs across various indicators

This report collects information on the 22 core indicators selected by The Social Performance Task Force. It consists of six parts:

Social performance standards framework and description;
Part 1, comprising 13 indicators that focus on MFI mission, products and services, social responsibility and clients outreach;
Part 2, comprising six indicators that focus on employment outreach, social responsibility to community and to environment, and children's education;
Table for poverty measurement with three indicators on poverty levels;
Calculator for effective interest rate;
Glossary.

The indicators follow a specific framework that looks at the entire process by which social impact is created. The framework includes an analysis of:

Institutional intent;
Effectiveness of internal systems and activities in meeting institutional objectives;
Related outputs;
Institution's success in effecting positive changes in the lives of clients.

Finally, the glossary links those indicators which are most difficult to conceptualize and conform to a standard definition.
