The mission of Microfinance Risk Management, L.L.C. is to help the poor build assets through improved access to formal financial services. It does this through the provision of consulting services in the areas of poverty measurement (the company developed the Simple Poverty Scorecard), credit-risk management (the company specializes in developing and implementing credit-scoring models for microfinance), and services related to the measurement of impact and the evaluation of microfinance organizations. The director, Mark Schreiner, advances the industry through speaking at conferences. He also helps to improve projects in which he is not the principal consultant through service on advisory boards and as a reviewer.
