Impact First is the Canadian pioneer at combining microfinance and health. Founded in 1982, Impact First has worked in remote and marginalized communities in 15 different developing countries. It is committed to promoting the well-being of women and their communities in the developing world through integrated microfinance, health and basic education initiatives. Impactâs Women First Banking model offers an alternative to mainstream banking, by providing microloans to support microenterprise initiatives. In addition to microcredit, they offer their clients other microfinancial services like savings and basic insurance combining these financial services with health and basic education initiatives to more thoroughly address the needs in the communities where they work.
