Opportunity International UK was established by Opportunity International founder David Bussau in 1992 and is a member of the global Opportunity International Network, a pioneer and global leader in providing microfinance and training to the working poor. Their mission is to provide opportunities for people in poverty to transform their lives, by providing access to sustainable financial services (micro loans, savings and insurance) and training so they can unlock their own potential and begin to work their way out of poverty.

Opportunity UK both raises and invests funds to help establish and strengthen partner microfinance organisations, advocating for the poor and increasing awareness of microfinance.
