ING Microfinance Support is an employee programme in the Netherlands focusing on:

• Creating awareness amongst ING employees of microfinance; what it is and why it works;
• Active employee contribution and involvement via a volunteer programme;
• Transfer of financial means from ING employees and clients to the
• Oikocredit Nederland Fonds and other specialised investment funds;
• Transfer of ING knowledge and expertise to partners and to microfinance institutions worldwide.

The ING Microfinance Support programme supports partner organisations that offer financial products to potential entrepreneurs and choose to work closely with Oikocredit and the United Nations.

ING is one of the main sponsors of the UN International Year of Microcredit 2005 and actively contributes to increasing awareness about microfinance and to grow the relationships between microfinance and the traditional commercial financial sector.
