Established in 2003 and based in Ahmedabad, India, the Indian School of Microfinance for Women focuses on:
- Building institutions that respond to poor women
- Understanding the lives of poor women
- Strengthening women leaders and management
- Promoting financial literacy
Based on these thematic areas, the School’s activities are broadly categorized into four areas:
- Training and capacity building
- Research, documentation and dissemination
- Technical assistance and consultancy
- Program management
In 2005, the Citi Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) was launched as a department of the School exclusively focused on financial literacy.
