Impact of Financial Sector Liberalization on the Poor (IFLIP) Type: Other Regions of Operation: Europe and Central Asia |

| This project aims to contribute to this debate by generating active research on the effects of financial sector reforms in selected African countries. While several African countries have yet to undertake financial sector reforms, others tackled the problem a decade or more ago. Yet, empirical analyses and policy-oriented research on the consequences of financial sector reforms in the region are still scarce. The present research programme aims to uncover evidence on the distributional effects of financial sector reforms whether from the depositors' or the borrowers' side of the market. It will also create a critical level of findings for policy recommendation. | |
