The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI), a not-for-profit institution, was set up in 1983 and is committed to education, research and training on entrepreneurship. Through the Center for Microenterprises, Microfinance and Sustainable Livelihoods, it provides:
- Capacity building services to NGOs involved in microenterprise development
- Training to the rural poor in entrepreneurship, and
- Support to rural artisan groups.
It also runs a two year post graduate diploma in management-business entrepreneurship and a one year post graduate diploma in management of NGOs. In addition, it provides capacity building services to organizations wanting to establish entrepreneurship programs.
