DFID is the part of the UK Government that manages Britain’s aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty. It works in partnership with other governments, multilateral institutions, businesses and the private sector, civil society, and the research community. DFID works directly in over 150 countries worldwide where it has funded several microfinance programs. Its headquarters are in London and East Kilbride, near Glasgow. DFID is a member of CGAP.
