Centre for Coordination of Volunteer Works and Research (CECOWOR) is a not for profit, apolitical organization registered under the Society Registration Act 1992. It was established in 1989 with a focus on voluntary social action for the liberation and development of marginalized people including women, children, low caste and other rural poor.

CECOWOR also wants to help other small grass roots organizations with less expertise and are involved in training NGOs, promoting democracy and developing a strong civil society. As part its economic empowerment program it promotes self-help groups to organize savings schemes and loan applications, and microenterprises.
