| M-CRIL is a credit rating organization based in India. In 2005, it became the first rating agency worldwide to introduce social rating, an assessment of systems, poverty outreach and client feedback to assess and compare the social performance of MFIs. It also conducts investment appraisals, performance monitoring, and microfinance sector studies for its clients. Such studies have covered topics like microfinance policy, best practices in microfinance delivery, and microinsurance and its role in meeting client needs. It serves as the India information hub for the MIX, Washington DC, and is responsible for data collection and analysis. | |
