Grassroot Empowerment Network is a non government organization committed to facilitating the economic, social and educational development of less priviledge rural and urban dwellers in Nigeria especially in the Niger Delta Region. It is currently running a microcredit program in local government areas on behalf of the National Poverty Eradication Program. GEN strives to undertake and achieve meaningful people-oriented developmental programs that would trigger the empowerment of the less priviledged but achieve segment of the populace: women, youth and the poor in general. The essence is to provide a basis for growth in income and welfare through skill development, asset acquisition and access to rewarding economic opportunities.
