Gram Utthan is an MFI, working primarily in Kendrapara and Seven other adjoining districts in the state of Orissa. It is not only providing financial support to the rural families, but is also helping form new enterprises in its area through larger loans and technical inputs for starting microenterprises. Gram Utthan's mission is to enable the poor and disadvantaged for qualitative changes in their lives through an empowerment process. Its objectives are:

• Educate, assist and enable the rural poor for creative use of their talents and wisdom;
• Organize and empower peoples organization such as Mahila Mandal SHG, youth club and village development committee;
• Stimulate and promote the development of poor and unprivileged masses;
• Develop thrift and credit habits amongh poor women;
• Undertake viable, action oriented and community based project/programs with a thrust on micro credit;
• Assist people with relief and rehabilitation activities during emergencies;
