Gayatri Rural Educational Society (GRES) is a nonprofit organization established in 2000 and reaches out to urban and rural poor women with the specific mandate to catalyze the endeavor of the poor for self-sufficiency and to improve the lives of women and children. GRES works to promote SHG groups and has extended its reach to thousands of women after its establishment.

It works towards prosperity of rural, tribal & urban slum dwellers through integrated approach, which embodies awareness, education, economic, health, sanitation, capacity building & bio-diversity programmes, with an insistence on women empowerment.

Its objeactives are to work for creation of self-employment opportunities by arranging various vocational training programmes in coordination with state, international & national authorities/organisations, develop the habit of thrift & savings, promote self-help groups both among the men/women; provide micro-credit support, marketing support as well as training support.
