The Center for Financial Inclusion at ACCION (CFI) was launched in 2008 to help bring about the conditions to achieve full financial inclusion around the world. Constructing a financial inclusion sector that reaches everyone with quality services will require the combined efforts of many actors. The CFI contributes to full inclusion by collaborating with sector participants to tackle challenges beyond the scope of any one actor, using a toolkit that moves from thought leadership to action.
The Center for Financial Inclusion also serves as the secretariat for the Smart Campaign, the industry’s client protection initiative that works around the world to incorporate the Client Protection Principles (CPPs) in the practices of the microfinance industry, and provide microfinance institutions with the tools and resources they need to deliver transparent, respectful, and prudent financial services to all clients.
