The BBVA Microfinance Foundation is an institution created by the BBVA Group within the framework of its Corporate Responsibility (CR) strategy. The Foundation was set up as a result of BBVA's desire to combine its community investment projects with the business of the financial sector and, more specifically, with the fight against financial exclusion. It is a not-for-profit institution set up for the purpose of ensuring that more and more individuals in a situation of poverty have access to financial services and use them to find new opportunities for development. More specifically, the BBVA Microfinance Foundation is committed to fighting against financial exclusion.
The aim of the BBVA Microfinance Foundation is to help disseminate microfinance services among the population with fewest resources. By strengthening the capacity of the microfinance sector, its services could reach more people in better conditions. To this end, the Foundation has set up several operating lines, including the creation of a Microfinance Institution Network.
