ADA (Appui au développement autonome, meaning “support for independent development” in English) is an NGO specializing in microfinance. ADA provides direct technical and/or financial support to MFIs located in Africa, Asia and Latin America in order to help poor households work their way out of poverty. The services it offers include:

• Research on innovative products (it produces and publishes technical publications on microfinance “good practices” and disseminates these to industry stakeholders)
• Training workshops (including training on financial performance indicators and microinsurance)
• Support for MFI networks and professional associations
• Promotion of transparency in MFIs and experimenting with new products such as microinsurance, microleasing, money transfers and integration of young artisans.

ADA is a managing partner of the French Microfinance Gateway.
