The Ghana Islamic Microfinance (GIMF) is a project of EPF a company limited by Guarantee with registration number G4, 964. It is been initiated out of concerns of the unprecedented growth in micro-finance in Ghana most of which have unfortunately turned to modern-day Shylocks looking at every possible opportunity to make profits from poverty. GIMF provides interest free ethical microfinancing to the Muslim and zongo communities in Ghana. It aims at:
- Fighting against predatory loan practices which is against Islam currently promoted by some MFIs in Ghana;
- Provide support for the underprivileged in society especially orphans, poor people and widows as part of our corporate social responsibility;
- Provide interest free loans to the needy in Ghana and promote qard-e-hasana as a viable model and a broad based solution to poverty alleviation.
