Helping for Economic Liberty of Poor (HELP) was initially founded as a Welfare Society in 2005. HELP is running microfinance operations in both the entities i.e. Mutually Aided Co-operative Societies (MACS) promoted by HELP Microfin Foundation (NGO) as well as HMF Financial Services Private Ltd (NBFC). HMF Financial Services Pvt Ltd (HELP) is a non-banking finance company (NBFC), registered with and regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), engaged in providing microfinance services to individuals from poor segments of rural and urban India. Its core business is providing small loans exclusively to poor women located in rural, semi-urban and urban areas in India (all below poverty line members, having a monthly household income of less than Rs 3,000/- and belonging to the backward classes), essentially for use in their small household businesses or other income generating activities.
HELP Microfinance utilize a village/locality centered, group lending model (MFI model / Grameen model) to provide these unsecured loans. Its mission is to provide or otherwise arrange for full range of financial and social services including various types of loans, insurance, pension, social security, investment, livelihood enhancement and related value added services, in a mutually beneficial, profitable and sustainable manner, thus creating better livelihood opportunities for improving its members living conditions.
