Sabaragamuwa Development Bank-Sri Lanka (SDBSL), a regional development bank incorporated on January 1, 1999 by an Act of Parliament is fully owned by the state and operates in the region of Sabaragamuwa covering four district namely Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kalutara and Colombo. Liscenced as a specialized bank by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, main activities include mobilizing savings and development lending through microfinance. Prime objective is regional economic development with emphasis on promoting income generating activities by individual and group methodology for enhancing agriculture, fisheries, small & micro enterprises' productivity. Its vision is to be the premier bank for development of microcredit in the region.
