| United People Microfinance Bank Limited (UP-MFB) is the only surviving microfinance bank in Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria. It was established in February 1995, and it is fully licenced by the Central Bank of Nigeria. The bank is especially strong in mobilising microsavers through the popular 'daily contribution' savings while extending micro loans to urban microentrepreneurs in the trades and vocations. It is one of the participating banks in the Federal Government's sponsored National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP). The bank also partners with the Bank of Industry on its financial outreach programme to cooperative societies. | |
