Microcredit Program for Persons with Disabilities Initiated in Pakistan Pakistan Poverty Elevation Fund (PPAF) is planning to launch a project to generate economic opportunities for persons with disabilities. Rs 3 billion (US$1.5 million) has been allocated to fund this initiative over the next five years. A micro credit project has already been initiated in Quetta, Khairpur and Swat, which will provide skills training and capacity building so that business opportunities can be tapped. Generating employment for persons with disabilities aims to help improve their lives in rural areas of Pakistan where accessibility to offices, schools and hospitals is itself a problem.
