Goodwell Launches Microfinance Fund for Africa JCS Investments and Goodwell Microfinance Development Company have launched the US$ 17 million Goodwell Africa Fund which aims to ease the access to capital for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and microentrepreneurs. The fund, which is the first equity microfinance fund in Ghana, will be invested in the entrepreneurial MFIs with the goal of creating a substantial social impact and attractive financial returns. At the launch of the fund, Kobina Amoah, Director of microfinance at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, said the multi-faceted nature of using microfinance as an instrument for wealth creation required an integrated effort by all stakeholders. |
