Responsible Finance Market Overview: Mozambique

This two-page brief provides a quick overview of institutions, regulations, challenges and outlook for the microfinance sector in Mozambique, with a focus on responsible finance. It also describes the responsible finance agenda of Associação Moçambicana de Operadores de Microfinanças (AMOMIF), which promotes access to financial services for all Mozambicans, offering its member MFIs demand-oriented services to deepen and broaden the national market in sustainable and responsible ways. This paper shares learnings from the Responsible Finance through Local Leadership, a program implemented by the SEEP Network in Ghana, Uganda, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, and Mozambique.
