This Law establishes the legal grounds of the powers of the Central Bank of Mongolia. Its purpose is to regulate relations concerning the implementation of State monetary policy undertaken by the Central Mongolia (Bank of Mongolia).

The directive is divided into seven parts, which highlight the following:

  • General provisions of the Law;
  • The currency of Mongolia;
  • The activities of the Bank of Mongolia;
  • Supervision of banks by the Bank of Mongolia;
  • The management of the Bank of Mongolia;
  • Relations of the Bank of Mongolia with other banks;
  • The allocation of income;
  • Requirements for financial statements and accounts of the Bank of Mongolia.

The paper concludes with a chapter containing miscellaneous provisions for liabilities.
