About the Job:
The Chief Business Banking Officer (CBBO) will lead the FMFB-A’s three delivery segments (Medium Enterprise & Corporate Banking, Treasury and Alternative Channels). The CBBO will partner with other key departments (Business Strategy & Marketing, Retail Banking, Human Capital, Technology, Compliance and Risk) to fulfill a wide variety of strategic initiatives.
The CBBO will be responsible for meeting customers' needs by integrating, and delivering innovative products to legacy and newly approved markets. The individual will be responsible to identify training needs and partner with internal and external resources for the successful development of Business staff. The executive will focus on improving the FMFB-A’s operations, efficiencies, and platform for strategic growth to achieve above-peer results, transform the Business footprint, leverage technology, and develop best-in-class employees. Other duties will include focusing on Return on Investment (ROI) for decisions related to resource allocation for the three target segments, and making recommendations grounded in data and analysis.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Coordinate delivery of products and services through the three customer segments (Medium Enterprise & Corporate, Treasury and alternative Channels);
Direct the development of objectives and goals for the Business banking division, including a formal yearly plan and budget;
Build an extensive Agent & Franchise Network across the country;
Manage the implementation of operating policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of lending, and depository banking services and products in a profitable, consistent and effective manner;
Direct the development and delivery of existing, as well as, new profitable banking services and products;
Call on the largest or most important existing or prospective customers within the framework of a business development program;
Manage balance sheet and day to day liquidity to support business growth; ensure Statutory Liquidity requirements and internal Bank Limits are adhered to;
Cultivate and manage a high-performance Channels team and proactively manage key stakeholders including IT, Operations, Marketing and Compliance in delivering ADC goals and objectives;
Support in staff mentorship and capacity building through coaching;
Promote the bank at all times, be knowledgeable of the products available, and seek opportunities to sell these products ensuring that volume and profit targets for the team are achieved and exceeded;
Oversee appraisal, assessment & control of credit exposures in the target customer segments; ensure a high standard of credit quality of portfolio;
Evaluate acquisition opportunities from the Business perspective, including managing integration plans, as appropriate;
Collaborate with Human Resources to create and manage compensation plans, including variable compensation, for all Business Officers and staff;
Collaborate with the Business Strategy & Marketing Officer in the development and implementation of marketing plans and programs to increase public awareness of banking services and attract new customers;
Ensure maximum collaboration and alignment with Business Strategy and Marketing on the Channels Marketing plan to drive sales performance and optimize customer engagement;
Work with colleagues across Business value streams to ensure all ADCs are pivotal in delivering day to day banking services and are positioned effectively alongside the bank’s physical channels to maximize customer awareness, adoption and usage;
Participate in the bank's business development activities; represent the bank in industrial and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc., and promote the bank's favorable image;
Assume overall responsibility for FX and Money Market activities.
Strong experience in Medium Enterprise & Corporate banking with at least five-ten years in a leadership position;
Must have worked closely with the affluent business community as the entire business ethos is High-Net-Worth clients orientated;
Experience in dealing with the complex banking needs of upper-middle market, mid-corporates and large corporate clients; both public and private;
Strong Experience in Treasury and solid understanding of deal structuring;
Ideally have developed an agent- and / or Franchise Network;
Experience in managing viable branchless banking channels and implementing effective controls and monitoring frameworks;
Proven commitment to service the customer in times of change;
Track record of sustainably improving deposit, loan, and customer growth;
Expertise in establishing goals tied to strategic initiatives and scorecard management;
Effective oral and written communication skills in English. Dari is a nice to have.
